Smith, Helen Frances (nee Bartley) passed away peacefully on Saturday May 6, 2017 at Campbell House in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Smith; loving mother of Susan Porter (Robert), James (Laura) Smith and Ann (Mark) Rogowski; cherished Nana of Tisha Boutet (Scott), Gavin Boutet (Heather), Edana Porter (Charles), Colin Smith (Tammy), Andrew Smith (Erin), Michael and Shane Rogowski, and great-grandmother of Cayleigh and Abby Toole. Predeceased by her brother Edward and sister Dorothy. Helen was known to a generation of east-end students as “Mrs. Smith in the Office” at Connaught School, and was a valued member of the Trinity United and All Saints Anglican Church Choirs, The Sound Investment, and The Brass Ring handbell group. A service of remembrance will be held at Fawcett Funeral Home – Collingwood Chapel at 1 p.m. on Saturday May 13, 2017. In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice Georgian Triangle – Campbell House would be appreciated by the family.
