Joyce leaves behind her loving husband Harold; to whom she was married to for 38 years, her children Madelaine (Wayne) Kilsby, John (Nora) McCaffrey, Robert Shepherd and Jane Guttman and her ‘adopted daughter’ Diane Lister. She will be forever cherished by her grandchildren Jacqueline (Andrew) Stadler, Jason (Kerri) Elliott, Elijah (Natasha) McCaffrey, Luke (Charlotte) McCaffrey, Ariel Nadler and Jacqueline Guttman and great grandchildren Franc & Matthew Stadler, Brianne, Logan, Landon and Braden Elliott and Kiera & Claire McCaffrey. Sadly missed by her sister Margaret (Ian) Godwin, her nieces and nephews Jacqueline (Eric) Willms, Elizabeth (Peter) Loades, Gregory (Allison) Thompson and Timothy Thompson and many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Charles and his wife Margaret Bone. Joyce will be remembered by her son in law Barry Jack (Martha) and daughter in law Pat McCaffrey (Blaine).
Joyce came to Collingwood in 1946 and other than a short period lived here or in Rob Roy since that time. She and her husband raised their family here, taking advantage of all the area had to offer. Joyce worked at the Collingwood Library and Kaufman House during her career and was part of the Senior League and Georgian Bay Arts & Crafts Club. She enjoyed the mountains and water which were an inspiration to her an artist. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Doctors Catherine & Geoff Moran, the staff at Errinrung and Collingwood General & Marine Hospital, the CCAC organization and the wonderful caregivers from St. Elizabeth. A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday February 15, 2014 at Fawcett Funeral Home – Collingwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations to the Stephen Lewis Foundation or My Friends House would be appreciated.
