Lloyd Ishmael  Thompson
Lloyd Thompson, 80, of Collingwood, passed away Friday afternoon, March 16, 2018, surrounded by loving family. He was born in New Lowell, on May 31, 1937 to parents Ishmael and Irene (nee Wilson) Thompson. Early in his career he worked for Goodyear Tires, owned a Drapery and Carpet enterprise, was employed with Canada Cartage, and worked in Landscaping. He had a deep sensitivity to nature and animals. He was known for his easy-going manner and kindness to others. He is survived by his spouse Anne Mann, and his four children, Pamela (David) Griffith, Veronica Thompson, Bonita Thompson, and Glenda (Shawn) Thompson Hall; Brothers, Orville, Thurald ‘Thud’ and Leslie; Sister’s Ruth, Rosalie, and Wanita. Nine grandchildren; Dylan, Devah, Daryl, Madisyn, Darbi, Chaz, Akiel, Logan and Lachlan; including numerous nieces and nephews, and his cherished dog, Daisy and bird Spike. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister’s Christina and Doreen. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 22, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Fawcett Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeremy Sanderson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or Canadian Lung Association.
