May 29, 1956 – February 2, 2018

Passed away peacefully at Campbell House Residential Hospice in Collingwood last Friday at the age of 61. By her side was her beloved partner of 32 years, Michael, her brother Steven and her dear friends Sue, Kathy and Liane.

Carol of Thornbury is survived by her partner Michael Gillett of Thornbury; loving mother Marion Healey of Collingwood; brothers Gary (Beverly) of Wasaga Beach and Steven (Tammy) of Deer Lake, Newfoundland; children Nicole (Clint) of Vancouver, Christopher (Celina) of London, England, Gregory (Tove) of Oakville, and Paul (Sherry) of Qingdao, China; grandchildren Mathilda of Oakville and Ethan of Vancouver; and nephews Steven of Pemberton, Robert of Collingwood and Gregory of Wasaga Beach. Carol is predeceased by her father Charles Healey of Collingwood.

Born in Collingwood, Carol attended Connaught Public School and Collingwood Collegiate Institute going on to fulfilling careers in law and wealth management. An active member of the Thornbury Yacht Club since 1987, she enjoyed spending time on her boat Easy, sailing and fishing in the North Channel. Carol's other passions were gardening, listening to Dr. Hook, watching daytime soap operas, and spending time with dear friends.
There will be a celebration of Carol's life at Maiolo's Restaurant above Thornbury Harbour on June 15, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Hospice Georgian Triangle.
