Encouraging the Budding Artist

Forgive the blanks in my fuzzy memory, since I was probably around 8, but we were living in Mississauga, maybe Northhaven Drive (?) and I guess mom figured out that I liked art. She enrolled me in an art course. I don't recall bugging her to let me take some art classes. I think it was totally HER idea. I was very excited! She and I rode in the car, past fields and along the lake for what seemed like forever. In hindsight, it was Oakville. I can't remember what we did in that class exactly, but I will never forget how mom made that long drive, just her and me, so I could be an artist.
