Mary Maxwell Roberts (nee: Medland)
Mary passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Sunset Manor in Collingwood in her 91st year. Mary suffered from Dementia for the last 6 years which finally took her. Mary was the loving wife of Ben for over 65 years. She loved and cherished her children: Daniel, Matthew (Pam), Eden (Ron), Luke (Rachel) and Kim (died at the age of 5). She also adored her 3 grandchildren: Sydney, Dawson and Luke Russell. Mary graduated from the University of Toronto in Occupational Therapy as an O.T. in 1950. She developed an interest in painting, watercolour being her specialty, in the late 1960s. She was the President of the Willowdale Group of Artist in 1982-83. She joined the Toronto Watercolour Society in 1986, became a member of the Society of Canadian Artists in 1990 and a Signature Member of Toronto Watercolour Society in 1992. She moved to Collingwood with Ben and her family in 1998 when her chalet on the beach became a house. Mary loved swimming, tennis and skiing at Craigleith Ski Club with her many friends. Her other love was pets, as she always had either a cat or dog or both around the house. Mary and her family would like to thank the staff of Georgian #1 at Sunset Manor for their support and loving care.
