Condolences

Condolence From: Maggie McElroy
Condolence: I worked with Suzanne at Saunders and we had many chats. We both came from large families and talked about how wonderful that was. One time she came in with little laughing Buddha statues for those of us that sat near each other. These were to bring us luck selling books and smiles to our faces. But he people she talked most about with love and affection were Michael and Spencer.
So very sorry for your loss.

Condolence: I will never forget sitting at your table and you called me your sister from another mister. We often discussed this bond between us and how an American librarian would show up in Canada on your doorstep. That has been one of the greatest blessings in my life. I am forever greatful for your warmth, hospitality, and love.

Condolence: Dear Aunty,

I miss you. I miss your quips, your support, and your words of love and caring from across the country. So many times over you said something to me that rang true and that was quite profound. You knew me better than I knew myself at times, and I still have no idea how you were able to know that when we met physically only a handful of times. But I guess that is our family - we communicate, no matter what the distance.

I miss you. I’ve missed you for a while now because I haven’t seen you as much around on Facebook. I just thought you were taking a break because we all know how overwhelming social media can be at times. And then, a few days before you passed, I learned that you were sick. Very sick. And that you might not come home.

I miss you. I have no idea what happens to us after we are gone, but I would like to think you’re somewhere, laughing and having a ball, and watching over us. And that you’re with Nana, Grandad, Uncle Dennis, Aunty Anne and Uncle Randy. I can’t say for certain, but this brings me peace thinking that this is true. I miss you.

Uncle Michael and Spencer, I am so sorry for your loss. Take care of each other.

Love, Elizabeth

Condolence: I have so many fun and happy memories of Aunty Suzanne; matching pitch with her at around 3 while she carried me around and showing me off to the neighbors, staying with me when my parents went overseas and telling me that I could only splash her with water to wake her up if I was late for school (I only did it once...or twice?), laughing with her as an adult over silly things and crying over heartaches. She had the sharpest wit, a great sense of humour and a fierce love for her boys Michael and Spencer. There are no words that will comfort you but I hope in the depths of your sorrow you can remember the light that was Suzanne and hear her laugh and feel her love for you.
