Don Hawkes
March 29, 1934 - December 7, 2017
Don died at Campbell House in Collingwood with his gang by him. Nothing made him happier than his four children: Alexandra (James), Martin (Katrine), Adrienne (Mark), Jonathan, his four grandchildren Kate, Tomas, Kristine, Elsa — and cigars. He is survived by his brother Douglas (Helen) and in-laws in Montreal. He greatly appreciated his cousins Linda and Jan, his extended family including Jim & Judy, Don & Sue and his many friends. He was a career newspaperman, while that was still a thing, starting as a student at Ryerson in the 1950s until he retired from The Toronto Sun in 1994. A big thank you goes out to all the staff and volunteers at Campbell House, to Dr. Langford and to Kim from St. Elizabeth’s.
