Ingrid Quickert
QUICKERT, Ingrid (nee Heinonen) –

Passed away suddenly on Tuesday September 26, 2017 at the age of 74. Beloved wife of Herbert Quickert of Collingwood, Ontario. Loving mother of Tina Rabbior (Michael) and Peter Quickert (Jacinta). Proud Mummo of her ‘Pikku Kultas’ Max and Lukas Rabbior and Revi the Dog. Sadly missed by her sister Anja Kanerva (Seppo), brother Matti Heinonen (Lynn) and sister-in-law Ruth Pleschberger along with their families. She will be remembered by her nieces, nephews, and many friends along with her relatives in Finland.
Born in Finland and immigrated to Canada in 1951. Lived for many years in Langstaff and Scarborough, Ontario. She graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours degree in Arts (Language). She taught French for many years in Markham District High School. Retired to Collingwood, Ontario to enjoy a life of skiing, biking and volunteering. She and Herb enjoyed travelling and had a special fondness for skiing the Rockies. Always the socialite, Ingrid’s compassion, caring and concern for others was endless.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital, or the Beaver Valley Outreach (BVO) of Thornbury. Visitation will be held at Fawcett Funeral Home, 82 Pine St. Collingwood on Sunday October 1, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. Funeral service will take place in the chapel at 11 a.m. on Monday October 2, 2017.
