Obituary for Mary Cameron

Suddenly on the morning of Monday, Aug. 21st, Mary collapsed and died peacefully in the loving arms of her husband Keith at their beautiful home on the shores of Georgian Bay.
She will be supremely missed by her large extended family. Her beloved husband Keith, her adoring children Janet (Larry), Leslie (Gavin), Michael (Karin), Richard (Liana), Karen (David), Heather, David (Becca), her treasured grandchildren, Andrew, Laurel (Raju), Heather (Allan), Cameron (Gina), Elliot, Karleigh, Madeleine, Max, Jake, Sarah, Conor, Suzanne, James, Leith, Marley, Regan & great grandson Jaiden. As well as her siblings Elizabeth Britton, Peter (Janet) Crich & a legion of nieces and nephews.
Mary was originally a nurse before starting her family but continued throughout her lifetime to be an incredibly devoted, caring & enthusiastic volunteer for Hospice, Cardiac Rehab, Special Olympics & many more charitable endeavors. She was recognized for her dedication to others as a recipient of the prestigious June Callwood Award for volunteerism. It was an honour that left her proud, humbled & in typical Mary fashion, utterly dismayed.
Her second home was Alpine Ski Club where she was an avid skier and social mainstay. She was also an accomplished swimmer, bridge player & Probus member. However despite excelling at every pursuit, Mary’s greatest passion, as well as her greatest success was as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister & friend.
Her absence will be so keenly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will held at Fawcett Funeral Home - Collingwood Chapel from 7-9 p.m. on Friday August 25th. A church service will be held on Saturday, August 26th, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Trinity United Church, Collingwood followed by a Life Celebration at Alpine Ski Club from 4-6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers Keith would appreciate donations be made to Hospice Georgian Triangle - Campbell House or Beaver Valley Outreach.
